Como Lake 2023 – Next Generation Innovations
EI Towers participated, as a special partner, in the 1st edition of “Como Lake 2023 – Next Generation Innovations“, an extensive event launched last October 5 at the Villa Erba International Exhibition and Congress Center in Cernobbio, on Lake Como.
The central themes of the Expo Conference, created with the support of the Department for Digital Transformation of the Prime Minister’s Office included the future of telecommunication networks and services, artificial intelligence, energy, and sustainability.
Many Italian and foreign speakers participated at the 3-day event, including representatives of the Italian government, the European Union, and leading domestic and international hi-tech companies.
An opportunity for meetings and discussions between institutions, companies and universities aimed at laying out the digital policies of the coming years, while ensuring a proper balance between sustainability – an area the companies of the EI Towers Group are already committed to through medium- and long-term plans – and the right to technological evolution.
The speech of EI Towers CEO during the morning session on Oct. 5, devoted to “Telecommunications, Networks and Services,” traced the company’s evolutions, particularly the significant diversification of corporate activities that has seen EI Towers become a partner of the Lega Calcio Serie A in recent years.
EI Towers, already known in the telecommunications sector as a leading independent tower company in Italy for the management of television and radio infrastructures, with about 2,500 broadcasting infrastructures, manages 8 national DTT MUXs in full-service mode. EI Towers is an assignee and holder of frequency usage rights as a local network operator and it provides broadcasting capacity to more than 200 local audiovisual media service providers in 13 Technical Areas.
With the strategic view of opening new business opportunities, EI Towers in partnership with Lega Serie A, has built, at its headquarters in Lissone, the well-known International Broadcast Centre (IBC), a state-of-the-art production center which handles broadcasting services for the creation and management of video, audio and data content of the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup matches. The innovative building houses the VAR Center, which, with 8 Var Rooms and a dedicated supervisor’s station, represents a true hi-tech gem.
And right at Como Lake 2023 – Next Generation Innovations, at EI Towers’ booth No. 12, it is possible to admire the Innovation Award given to Lega Serie A, at the 2021 edition of the “Globe Soccer Awards” held in Dubai, for the futuristic International Broadcast Centre.
A further opportunity to expand its business had already been created by EI Towers – in 2015 – through the installation of a state-of-the-art network infrastructure exclusively dedicated to IoT and managed by its subsidiary EIT Smart.
EIT Smart, the only national IoT network operator, can ensure international interoperability via “seamless” integration with the networks of over 70 operators in the “0G Consortium” that use the same 0G communication standard as Sigfox.
